Rigid Rock Foundation Waterproofing in Camden, Maine

An old building with an old foundation
Here is a recent job Quantum completed in Camden, Maine. This extensive renovation of a historical building posed some distinct challenges. The building had an old field stone foundation that needed to be waterproofed. The basement of the building is being used/finished so water intrusion just was not an option. As a waterproofing installer in Maine we are constantly running into this issue. The best course of action is to always waterproof these foundations from the outside. That way water never gets into the foundation in the first place. This is where our Rigid Rock Waterproofing System comes into play. It is a system above all others and truly is the future of waterproofing in Maine! Give us a call. Your service is our business.

Before the Rigid Rock
The picture above is what the foundation looked like before we installed the Rigid Rock waterproofing system. As you can see rock is an incredibly challenging substrate to waterproof properly. Our installers did an excellent job taking care to install this system correctly. Some of our installers have been doing work like this for over 20 years!
Why do we do this?
Maine is full of historic buildings. Churches, inns, captain’s houses, old farms, and many others. Most of these buildings were built with field stone foundations. Water in the basement was just a part of life. As the years progress, we are renovating and breathing new life into these old buildings. Stopping water from intruding into the basements is critical to preserving these buildings. Our Rigid Rock Waterproofing system can solve this problem!
Rigid Rock is not just for old stone foundations. We are also using it in new concrete and IFC foundations as well. Stay tuned for another post regarding how to use Rigid Rock on your new build in Maine. Especially those built on side hills or near the ocean.
